Agility Instruction At Awesome Paws

Jean Lavalley, Karen Holik, and Jennifer Crank
The students at Awesome Paws range from those that simply want to be the best they can be, while still having fun at the local trials, to the serious contenders that aspire to be nationally and internationally competitive.
Linda specializes in perfecting the teamwork between the dog and handler. Many students have established themselves as top trainers and are very successful in their own right, before ever working with Linda. Those that aspire to be competitive at the highest levels come to Awesome Paws to tap into Linda’s many years of experience and expertise. She has helped many handlers polish their performances resulting in trips to the podium at the FCI and IFCS Agility World Championships, and the AKC, USDAA, NADAC and ACA National Championships.
Linda has many loyal students that happily compete at the local level. Some have been coming to Linda for instruction for more than ten years, most with several different dogs. Most must travel from long distances. Some travel in for periodic private lessons, others make an annual trek to attend one of the Awesome Paws camps that are offered each summer. They come with a wide range of goals, but one thing they all have in common is the desire to improve their performances and become better teammates for their dogs.
Some students are not able to work with Linda directly so they find creative ways to learn her training and handling philosophies. Many handlers consider themselves students of Awesome Paws if their instructors have trained with Linda, or if they have studied resources such as books and Clean Run articles that Linda has authored and use her handling system.
Every student comes to Awesome Paws with a different background and with different objectives. Every student has individual goals and Linda tries to take that into account and customize her instruction for each. Regardless of whether they aspire to stand on the podium at the World Championships or just have an exhilarating run, Linda’s goal is to help them achieve their dreams and be the best they can be.

Linda describes the fundamentals of her highly acclaimed Awesome Paws Handling System (APHS), discussing both the theoretical knowledge and the basic foundation skills that are needed for success. While the focus of the seminar is understanding and applying AHPS, there is a wealth of information provided that will benefit all handlers regardless of their background. Watch it today!
